Recent Boat trip on the river Nene

Recently the senior members of All Saints had an enjoyable cruise along the River Nene.  During the journey we rescued a moorhen that was caught in fishing line and was found hanging from a tree.  After disentangling the bird and removing a hook from its jaw the bird gradually seemed to improve.  The RSPCA was called and they met us when we moored up for lunch and took the bird away.  Everyone then enjoyed a buffet lunch and those who wanted to were able to stroll along the river bank.
Thank you to everyone who made a generous donation.  This money goes to help maintain the boats so that others can enjoy the river trips and is part of St John Ambulance care in the community programme.  The total of money raised was £78.50.

A very big thank you from all who went on the trip, to all the helpers and the boat crew for the recent trip on the river Nene. Everybody had a lovely day and the food was excellent.
A special thank you to Carol Coleman for organising the boat from the St. John Ambulance.
