Tenor Bell

** When the Tenor bell was cast in 1761 by Thomas Eyre, they also cast the Tenor for Grendon. Tradition has it that the bells were accidentally swapped, thus Earls Barton having the Grendon tenor.
In 1935 the 7th bell was recast due to poor tone, by John Taylor of Loughborough, who also retuned and rehung the rest of the bells in a new oak frame and fittings, when the treble and 2nd bell were added to complete the ring of eight as today.
