Role of the PCC & Sub-Committees:
(updated 1/5/10)
Members are elected by the Parish Annual General Meeting and are responsible with the Churchwardens and the Vicar for the running of All Saints Church. The Church Council (PCC) meets about 6 times a year and much of the work is delegated to the six sub-committees, who have extra members to help carry out the work.
We are always keen to encourage people to join our committees and help. People are not expected to be on a committee for life! The 6 sub committees are: Buildings, Finance, Socials, Stewardship, Tower publications, and Worship & Outreach. Please have a word with the wardens or vicar if you would like to find out more.
The first meeting of the new PCC was in April 2010 when the officers, secretary and treasurer etc were elected and the sub-committees re-formed.
On 28th April we held the annual Vestry and General Meetings, at which the following elections were made:
Churchwardens - Lesley Barker and Cathryn Kunkler
Laity PCC Members - Martin Pratt, Carol Feben, Jane Evans, Kathy Hale, John Metcalfe, Margaret Manfield, Mark Evans, Marion Welch, Sue Suter and Tom Moore
Continuing Deanery Synod representatives - Eryl Gaddes, Vindelyn Hillman, Andrew Feben and Lesley Barker
Nominated Reader - Simon Elvin
Deputy Churchwardens - Martin Pratt and Tom Moore
During the remainder of the inter-regnum, Martin Pratt will continue to chair PCC meetings.
Much of the work of the PCC is done through committees, who welcome the support of additional members of the congregation to help in their areas. If you are able to offer time, or have particular interests or skills, the following would be delighted to hear from you;
Buildings - John Metcalfe/Tom Moore
Finance - Cathryn Kunkler/Jane Evans
Social Events - Tom Moore/Lesley Barker
Worship & Outreach - Marion Welch/Andrew Feben
