Gill Metcalfe
I am proud to be a member of the first group of Diocesan Lay Pastoral Assistants who were licensed in l993, later renamed Lay Pastoral Ministers in 2009. Being part of the faith community of this church has been an important part of my life since we moved here over thirty years ago. I am a ‘people person’, a qualified counsellor and work professionally in bereavement support. I enjoy travel, pottering in the garden, dabbling in watercolours but most of all being an active grandmother.

Sue Suter
Most of my working life has been in customer service and I felt I was being called to the Lay Ministry of Pastoral Assistant. So I did my training during the last two years of full time employment and loved every aspect of it. I was licensed in 2005 and am enjoying working with Gill and Carol and the leadership team. When did I find time to go to work? Our two daughters have finally left home and we have a wonderful two year old grand-daughter who, unfortunately for us, lives in the US. We’re enjoying the travelling but somehow I don’t seem to make the time to keep the garden under control.

Carol Coleman

Hi my name is Carol and I have been part of the Lay Pastoral team at All Saints Church since 1994. I enjoy meeting people and over the years have contributed to many areas of ministry such as baptism visiting, bereavement visiting, home communions, Tiny Tots and many other miscellaneous areas.
My time is a little more limited at the moment because I work full time, as a first aid trainer for St. John Ambulance alongside being Superintendent of the Earls Barton Unit. I have two grown-up children; Matthew and my daughter Christine.

Kathy Hale
Having retired from the NHS in 2005 following 39 years working as a children’s nurse and manager, I decided to retire to Earls Barton, a new area for me. I was immediately welcomed and included into a caring and active parish. My response to this wonderful demonstration of Christian action at work was to get involved, to give something back. I felt called to become part of the dedicated pastoral ministry team and to undertake the two year training programme, which confirmed to me that this is what God wanted me to do. It has become a privilege and humbling opportunity to become a Lay Pastoral Minister, a role which I will, with God’s help, endeavour to fulfil to my full potential.

Valerie Brown
Now retired, at the end of my employment years I was a counsellor with RELATE and also a Co-ordinator with the Victim Support charity. This stands me in good stead for pastoral work within the parish of All Saints where I am already enjoying working with my three colleagues visiting the housebound and assisting in events such as monthly prayer meetings, All Bears@All Saints (our pre-school group) and the organization of one off events.
I have two daughters, four grandchildren and a great-grandson as well as a sizeable garden to maintain but the call to follow Ministry was one I could not ignore. I look forward to meeting new people and offer an invitation to you to visit our wonderful church.
